News report by : Shanelle Gabryle R. Doroin of 8 - Amethyst ( Legacy )
On October 23, 2023, students accompanied with teachers celebrated the United Nations celebration, and represented different countries through their costumes. The event started with a morning prayer that was arranged by our SHS SSC, and sang the national anthem for the flag ceremony. After doing the Monday morning ceremony, the awarding for the CSANPRISA winners came up and students from the Elementary Department to the Senior High Department accepted their awards.
The whole program was hosted by our lovely teachers, Ms. Marie Christine Pajanil and Mr. Alezandro de Jesus. A parade of the Elementary Department was done as they showcased their costumes, and countries such as South Korea, Malaysia, and Philippines were presented to the audience. Then, the highlighted event is the fashion show that the Grade 8 students have participated in and was arranged by Mr. Kristian Pastrana.
The groundbreaking contest was rocked by the students of 8-Amethyst and 8-Ruby, and they walked the runway with their costumes made using recycled materials. The costumes and outfits used were made by the students themselves whilst representing countries from different continents like Europe, Asia, and so on. After the students introduced their countries, the judges started giving their points to the candidates.
The winners for the United Nations Fashion Contest are Life Duanne Lewis Abenes (Champion), Jewel Aquiatan (First Place), and Jadem Ordonio (Second Place). Overall, the United Nations celebration was a resounding success, with students showcasing their creativity, cultural appreciation, and dedication to sustainable fashion. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn more about different countries and their unique cultures.
