Celebrating Excellence and Dedication : YDPSI World Teachers' Day Program
On Friday, October 5, 2023, The celebration of the World Teachers' Day came alive at the Yverdon de Pestallozi School Inc. Covered Court. The event served as a platform for students to come together, express their gratitude, and celebrate the relentless dedication of their educators.
A path welcomed our Elementary, Junior, and Senior High School Department teachers as they made their grand entrance. Cheers and applause filled the air as the students warmly welcomed them, hyping up the atmosphere with boundless energy.
Following this spirited start, the school's principal, Ma'am Adelfa Quinto, took the stage to convey her heartfelt appreciation for the teachers. The real highlight, however, was yet to come, as teachers from all grade levels were invited to showcase their dance moves, a special performance prepared by the student council officers. Not to be outdone, the teachers wowed the audience with their own rendition of 'Mini Miss U,' a soundtrack from a popular local TV show.
The program continued with a series of fascinating performances and engaging games that captivated both teachers and students alike. Kilig was felt among everyone when Thenshi Rhain Santos, from Grade 10 Platinum, serenaded the teachers with Ed Sheeran's 'Photograph,' evoking feelings of nostalgia and appreciation.
One of the most intense and fun moments of the day was the 'hephep hooray' game, which saw nearly 25 teachers eliminated before Senior High Teacher Ms. Arceli Gozo and Elementary Teacher Ms. Rose Emy Anular Corpuz emerged as the finalists. The intense competition had the crowd on the edge of their seats, and in the end, it was Ms. Rose Emy Anular Corpuz who emerged as the victor, sparking cheers of celebration.
Awards were given to teachers for notable performances as class advisors, including the Dewey Decimal Award for being well-organized, the Paper Clip Award for holding students together, the Single File Award for orderliness, the Head Cheerleader Award for school spirit, the Bunsen Burner Award for innovative ideas, and the Hall Monitor Award for vigilance. Other awards included the Abacus Award for excellence, the Carpe Diem Award for making the most of each day, the Grandma's Dumpling Award for comfort, the Houdini Award for problem-solving, the 99% Perspiration Award for hard work, the P's and Q's Award for good manners, and the Locksmith Award for the school principal's role in the school's success.

The event continued to be a showcase of talent as The Voice Kids Grand Finalist, Xyrene Martinez, delivered a heartfelt performance of Avril Lavigne's 'I'm with You.' Junior High School department teacher Ms. Shaine Dela Cruz followed with a soulful rendition of Alicia Keys' 'If I Ain't Got You.'

The Yverdon de Pestallozi Dance Club, known as Yndak, added their flair to the festivities with a captivating dance performance. They also touched hearts with an interpretative dance that paid tribute to the sacrifices teachers make to provide education to their students.

The day's entertainment also included a special dedication from the YDPSI Junior High School Department Student Council Vice President, Cheska Alcantara, from Grade 10 Diamond, who sang 'I Won't Last a Day Without You' by The Carpenters. Last but not least, the Yverdon de Pestallozi School Supreme Student Council took the stage, concluding the program with a high-energy performance set to 'Dance The Night' by Dua Lipa.
In conclusion, the YDPSI World Teachers' Day Program was a vibrant celebration of the dedication and excellence exhibited for the beloved teachers at Yverdon de Pestallozi School Inc. The event not only provided an opportunity for students to express their gratitude but also showcased the talents between teachers and students.
